ya-uh my readers? what is up? only few months before my 11 grade last, much pressure coming real soon. i decided to make this last few months worth the hell it. so, SMAN 21 has an annual program named '21cup' and STROVOLT 0'12 proudly present you '21CUP 2011 WILD WEST' we bring you competitions such as basketball, futsal, modern dance, cheerleading, saman, and rally photo. This competition is for ALL highschool in Jakarta. Coming for you on 19 June. Exciting? sure! And guess what? I'm one of the committee (bagian seksi acara)! wohoooo! I need many experiences to someday become a good event organizer as i always wanted amin. As the beginning we need to get sponsorship and media partner for our cup. It has worked so well so far. But me and my friends thinking about get some money from our own effort so we did two things; singing (ngamen) and selling food. There are 40 persons in the committee, we are parted into groups and start to do fund raising.
NGAMEN
My group consisted of 6 people. Me, Pamela, Kevin, Afgan, Mamet, and Astrid. The first place is in front of Taman Menteng. We sang one car to another when the traffic light is red. This is seriously make us nervous at first because we were afraid of people reaction. But then after a few cars we started to enjoy it even though the sun was so hot. My friends were playing guitar while me sang and asked for money and sometimes explain to some people the reason that we do for fund raising. One thing for sure, just because they are in BMW or Jaguar doesn't guarantee they will give lots money. Instead, ordinary cars or people in taxi can give more than we expected. Some people give 30, 20, 10, 5, but there are also who gives only Rp. 1000 or even 500perak. The funny fact that we were 'ngamen' while holding slurpee that we buy at seven eleven hahaha. We get 200.000 the first day. The second day still at Menteng. There are two woman that gives us 50.000 because they knew we are from sman 21! wohooo. Other girl took so long to open her purse while we were waiting outside and she gave.... Rp. 2000 haha we still say alhamdulillah. We decided to move to Tebet. The sun is right above us and me as the team leader kept supporting my friends. There was a love couple who ask us to sing for them then we got 30.000! ;) so many experiences sometimes people don't even want to hear us sing and sometimes we already sing but the light has already turned green. But this is challenging and i always love doing new things. Final result for 2nd day we got Rp. 600.000.
Food and Drink Selling
Me and my dancers did this for 21cup :") We sell ice tea, syrup, lontong, cupcakes, and bolu. We started at about 7am until 1pm. First destination is Car Free Day at Bunderan HI. Senayan is full with bikers, from students, couples, and families they all gather fot biking or just jogging, no car allowed. So we use that occasion to walk from HI until FX and then we walk back to our first stop. There were a few securities that prevent us to sell food near the fountain. It is ridiculous because there are so many cadgers around us. It was exhausting because i had to carry 50 lontong which is prety heavy. But thanks god everything is sold out! 4 pan of bolu cake and 50 cupcakes! we sell everything 1 for 3000 but it is only 5000 if you buy 2. We met lot of different people. There are one big family that bought everything at once and we got 30.000. We also met Widy Viera and Okky Lukman and they even support us and 21cup. There were some boys (they're cool actually) who ask for blackberry pin :p Other group of teenager were asking us to woken up their friend who actually fell asleep when they were resting. It was hilarious because their friend successfully shocked. Some questions that we always get such as: Where school do you come from? Where is SMAN 21? What kind of competitions that will be in 21 cup? Where and when 21cup will be held? and also this question -> "Can we get your bb pin?" We get a half million alhamdulillah. We have lunch at Bakmi GM sarinah with ayu's parents then went home. Spent the rest of my day sleeping on the bed.
Well no matter how much of my energy that has taken for this activities. I find my self realy enjoy it! It gives me experience talking to so many different people, public relation in reality. This shows me different types of people and the way they react. And it also make me much grateful for what i have and taught me how to work hard for money and to appreciate it more. Such an experience! Let's do more!
