we had planned this trip for almost a month. the 8 of us. but the closer it gets, the unexpected schedule came cripping in. the misunderstanding and the disagreement attacking us. we're not always on the same platform. and i was the one that feel a little desperate that we're gonna make it. i tried not to be selfish and it's hard. because vacation is for relieving, and why should we go if something is taken us back from feeling relieved? anyhow, we decided to still go with a deal that Undira gonna come later, Rivel is coming with us, and April Aflah would go home earlier than us. the last day we decided not to book the car rent, my friend Arif would picked us up and became our driver. Everything is decided last minute. We hadnt even booked the hotel. We took the economy train and we're almost late because got stucked in traffic jam. The trip from Kiara Condong station to Lempuyangan Station took 8 hours. On the trip, the boys's cigarettes were taken by the train officer because they tried to smoke between the rail. It was oddly funny for us. We arrived in a breaking dawn, my back was hurt from the stiff economy seat but i am contented.
Arif is me and kiki's senior high school friend, and we hadnt met for like couple of years. He took us to food stall in front of a cemetery, Soto Pak Man. i dont really like it though but it was cheap beyond sense. next we stopped by at arif's dorm to change our clothes before going to the beach. we were worn out.He is so nice! he got along with the boys quickly. we drive for 2 hours to Baron Beach. it was beaufitul with many green cliffs but sadly it was raining. The boys swam in the sea and the girls took photo. The wave was pretty seducing. when it stopped raining we decided to go to Sadranan Beach (there are so many beaches along the way to gunung kidul, from Baron to Sadranan only 15 minutes). Sadranan is way more beautiful, resemble bali. I cant believe jogja has this breathtaking coast.I will surely comeback to explore another beach. In Sadranan we all jumped into the sea, the sun is up, the wave is perfect, and the white sand is relaxing. It was a perfect way with my bestfriends and Rivel. I will tell about him later, but he's someone that is pretty special for me.
My face got red because i was alergic with sea water. He took care of me and comforted me. After a quick late lunch at the beach, we went back to the city. It was raining again at night, and we were looking for a hotel for a few hours but didnt find any. Everything is full booked on saturday night, what's left is expensive hotel. I was starving and confused. I was planned meeting with my senior high school friend, Stevani. She asked where we gonna stay and i said that we're in the middle of this confusion, and she offered us to stay at her house. We were desperate and we were thinking to stay one night at her house. But we turned out to stay there for the rest of our vacation. She and her boyfriend are our saviors! the power of friends! That night we ate padmanaba fried rice, we literally sat in a carpet on the pavement. we ate next to the traffic. my first experience, but you can find it everywhere in jogja. wow. we also tried Kalimilk (it's a cafe that sell various flavor of milk). Food is so cheap in Jogja, but the taste isn't disappointing at all!
The next morning we went to Kraton Jogja (the palace) because jogja still actually has king and queen. We went with taxi because Jogja dont have any angkot or ojek. They have tramp but it's only in a few places. Becak also only can be found in public places. So our only option is taxi. The kraton is too ordinary but i enjoy walking around the city. It is so friendly. In Malioboro, we bought some souvenirs at Mirota shop, it is better if you're too lazy to bargain the price with the seller in the street. I found one ashtray for my dad for 20.000 rupiah but when i asked the same ashtray in the street they give me price for 60.000. So crazy huh?April, Aflah, and Rivel had to go back to Bandung :( so good bye :( Afterward, we had dinner at Ayam Ganther. It's also the same, we ate in the pavement. But the taste, it was HEAVEN. the grilled chicken with nut sauce, recommended!!! please go there if you're in jogja.
On Monday, we picked up Undira who had just come from Bandung. We went straight away to Taman Sari. It was a bathing place for king and queen hundred years ago. Nice place, but likely other historical places in indonesia, it's unorganized and decaying. It supposed to be very beautiful, if only the government preserved it better. From there, we drove to Pindul Cave. We did body rafting in the river. But it was raining and the river is brown colored. I didnt really enjoy it. At the cave, we saw beautiful stalactites which made from crystal, it was really dark. There are also bat nest right above our head. Honestly, i think this isnt really interesting and i just thank god that since it's weekday that i dont have to go through a long queue for such an average place like that.Sorry to say. At night, we had dinner at Ayam Ganther again! haha. I was bound to a heavy flu. My head is pounding and i hardly can breath. Later, we reunited with our high school friends who studied in Jogja. We ate dessert and literally blended with everyone. Such a great time. Special thanks to Stevani and her boyfriend who lend us the car and take us around the city. It's very nice of you.It feels good that your high school friends can join your college friends.
Last day in Jogja, we went to Malioboro to do some shopping. But before, we had lunch at Ayam Geprek. It is so yummy, they chop the fried chichken with chili. Must try! I got 1 batik blazer with pretty good price. And the we bought some Bakpia in Merlino. Chocolate, cheese, and the best one is greentea flavor warm from the oven. Love! We took our stuff at the house and said goodbye to Stevani. Big thanks for letting us stay there for almost 4 days! Even thanks would not be enough. Whenever she comes to Bandung, we will surely treat her the best way we could! The house is really nice and comfy and she has been really helpful. I'm lucky;) We took the train at 8 pm and arrived at dawn. From kiara condong station we took 2 angkots to jatinangor (the blue one and the green one), we were utterly tired.
THAT'S A WRAP. SEE YOU IN ANOTHER JOURNEY!
